The Herbi unit is also is very adjustable and low maintenance. Simply connect 1 - 6 Plant Silos to the Control Unit, then fill the control units containers with their corresponding elements and Herbi is off and running for 1 plus months of hassle free operation.

Herbi can even communicate with you. Herbi was designed for autonomous operation but from time to time, averaging out to about once a month, the control units ph + , ph - , nutrient feed and water reserve must be replenished. Herbi lets you know when it needs assistance by lighting a light blue LED behind the corresponding icon on the Herbi Control Unit. After the needed solution is added, Herbi will detect the change and the light behind the icon will turn off.

' + ' icon represents ph +
' - ' icon represents ph -
' o ' icon represents nutrient feed
' ~ ' icon represents water

Ease of use is an important aspect of Herbi. The process of interacting with every piece of Herbi was designed to be logical and easy to understand. Even a novice should be able to interact with the Herbi without fear or trepidation. Below are the instructions of how construct the plant silos and see for your self how easy HERBI is to use and interact with.

How to load a Herbi Plant Silo:

1 place the plant silo casing on a flat dry surface (1)

2 place the water reservoir and routing station into the plant silo casing. please note, it will be necessary to pinch the water reservoir from the sides (2a) to allow the routers to fit correctly into the plant silo casing (2b)

3 now place the sprinkler ring system into the plant silo casing. make sure the routing plugs above the water reservoir match up with the openings on the bottom of the sprinkler ring system ( 3a.) when the sprinkler ring system is placed correctly, the top of the sprinkler ring system should be flush with the top of the plant silo casing (3b.)

4 now place the breathable plant sheath with herbi approved soil mix into the sprinkler ring ( 4a.) once again, when everything is assembled correctly, the top of the breathable plant sheath ring and the sprinkler ring should be flush (4b.)

5 use the silo connector plug to connect individual herbi silos together. to do this, put the silo connector plug into one silo’s routing plugs and then press it against the other silo you wish to connect to (5a.) the silos should be practically flush with one another after the joining (5b.)

6 finally, place the silo end-cap plugs into the routing plugs of the last silo in the chain from the control unit (6.) this will allow the control unit to build up pressure for water dispersal and retrieval.

As a product inspired by plusminuszero, Herbi needed to follow in the established esthetics of the company. Simple, effortlessness, and sensitivity to its environment are the guiding principles of Herbi's design. Herbi also draws heavy inspiration from the old wheat and grain silos that are spread throughout the rural plains of America. Also, the elegantly simple yet dynamic movements of Japanese Architect Tado Ando work helped serve as a major inspiration for Herbi.
